Davidson Prison Ministry (DPM) formed in the fall of 1985 offering hope and healing to the offenders and staff at Davidson Correctional Center.  DPM chaplaincy and ministry services seek to be “salt and light” to a broken and hurting community.

DPM is driven by the belief that every human being is created in the image of God and therefore has intrinsic dignity and potential.

By supporting this ministry, you demonstrate your desire to help offenders make a permanent change in their lives which has the potential of profoundly impacting the lives of children, families, and communities.  The positive impact on society when one person’s life is transformed is immeasurable.

Davidson Prison Ministry is a member of the Lexington Area Chamber of Commerce and received GuideStar’s Gold Seal of Transparency.

ClicCathy Robertson, Executive Director
Cathy Robertson serves as Executive Director of Davidson Prison Ministry, where she leads with a deep commitment to Christ and a passion for serving the incarcerated church. With decades of leadership experience, Cathy is dedicated to equipping others to grow in their faith and actively engage in meaningful ministry both inside correctional facilities and through reentry support across North Carolina.
Under her leadership, Davidson Prison Ministry has strengthened its mission of bringing the hope of the Gospel to incarcerated men. Through strategic vision, volunteer mobilization, and consistent discipleship efforts—including weekly Bible studies—Cathy has witnessed lives transformed as men discover purpose, identity, and restoration in Christ. Her journey with the ministry began more than a decade ago as a volunteer and Board Chairman, giving her a deep, firsthand understanding of discipleship and ministry leadership.
In addition to her nonprofit leadership, Cathy brings extensive experience in organizational and team management from her career in property management. She is known for building strong teams, cultivating meaningful relationships, and implementing strategies that foster long-term growth and sustainability.
Cathy holds a Certificate in Nonprofit Management and Community Leadership from Salem College and has completed the Women’s Emerging Leaders Program at Wake Forest University. These experiences, combined with her practical leadership background, equip her to lead with both compassion and effectiveness.
At the heart of Cathy’s calling is a love for direct ministry. Whether leading Bible studies, facilitating discipleship, or worshiping alongside men at Davidson Correctional Center, she is most fulfilled when serving on the front lines of ministry.
A lifelong resident of Lexington, North Carolina, Cathy is deeply rooted in her community while carrying a broader vision—to see lives transformed and the Gospel advanced through ministry to the incarcerated church.

HOPE

Prison is a place of punishment but God can use it as a place to refine, reshape and transform the lives of offenders.  God does not give up on those in prison and neither should we!
