Our programs emphasize accountability amid spiritual fellowship. We provide supportive transitional housing for men who have lost their way due to alcohol, drugs, or incarceration. We offer our residents an opportunity to restore their lives, restore family relationships, reorganize their priorities, and start a new life.
SERVICES PROVIDED
Supervised independent living provides structure and close supervision that residents need at sequential levels to work a comprehensive recovery program successfully.
Programs include services to help residents grow spiritually in the Christian faith, become gainfully employed, learn social and budgeting skills, and computer literacy, and access all the services they may need to help them resolve the challenges in life.
A comprehensive continuum of support services includes Celebrate Recovery group meetings, relapse prevention, spiritual counseling, special workshops teaching life skills, budgeting, and parenting classes.
Davidson Prison Ministry recognizes that the disease of addiction affects an individual physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, and that recovery must occur in all these areas.

Davidson Prison Ministry provides nutritious food through donations until the residents can provide for themselves.
Weekly meetings are held for all residents to discuss upcoming activities, rule changes, and resident concerns.

Lighthouse Transitional Housing Program
Program Overview
Lighthouse Transitional Housing Program
Program Overview
Davidson Prison Ministry (DPM) operates The Lighthouse, a transitional housing program that supports formerly incarcerated men as they reenter society. The Lighthouse provides a structured, faith-based environment where residents receive guidance, accountability, and resources to help them achieve long-term stability and independence.
Our home currently accommodates up to eight residents, one of whom serves as a peer support person. A Transitional Housing Director oversees daily operations, while the Executive Director provides overall program leadership under the direction of the Board of Directors.
Entry Procedures
Referral Process: Offenders in North Carolina prisons are introduced to the program through their case managers. Referrals may also come from the facility Chaplain or an inside program leader/pastor at Davidson Correctional Center. Preference is given to graduates of the Jumpstart inside program.
Application & Interview. Interested applicants are interviewed to determine eligibility and fit. Approved candidates are invited to complete a formal application. Applications are reviewed by both the Transitional Housing Director and the Executive Director.
Individualized Case Plan: Once accepted, residents begin working with staff to develop a tailored plan that addresses their personal needs and goals. Examples include:
Enrollment in a recovery program, Rebuilding family connections and relationships, Obtaining a driver’s license or state ID, Securing car and medical insurance (Medicare/Medicaid), Applying for food stamps, Scheduling medical and dental appointments, Completing job applications and employment readiness
Program Structure
Program Duration & Success Measures
