SERVICES PROVIDED
Supervised independent living provides structure and close supervision that residents need at sequential levels to work a comprehensive recovery program successfully.
Programs include services to help residents grow spiritually in the Christian faith, become gainfully employed, learn social and budgeting skills, and computer literacy, and access all the services they may need to help them resolve the challenges in life.
A comprehensive continuum of support services includes Celebrate Recovery group meetings, relapse prevention, spiritual counseling, special workshops teaching life skills, budgeting, and parenting classes.
Davidson Prison Ministry recognizes that the disease of addiction affects an individual physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, and that recovery must occur in all these areas.

COMMUNITY LIVING
Life in reentry and recovery is new and sometimes a confusing experience. Upon qualifying each future resident will be fully briefed in all rules and regulations and must agree to cooperate with all program requirements. Davidson Prison Ministry staff provides supervision and support in facilitating all programs.
The residents prepare meals and are responsible for maintaining house cleanliness and necessary light maintenance.
Davidson Prison Ministry provides nutritious food through donations until the residents can provide for themselves.
Weekly meetings are held for all residents to discuss upcoming activities, rule changes, and resident concerns.

EMPLOYMENT
Following the initial 30 days of residency clients must seek full-time employment. Davidson Prison Ministry assists with job placement with the help of our employer stakeholders.
TRANSPORTATION
Davidson Prison Ministry will provide transportation whenever possible for residents to go to and from work, medical/DSS/legal appointments, program activities, and church services.
ACTIVITIES
One critical aspect of reentry and recovery is the creative use of leisure time. Involvement and participation in positive social activities are encouraged. Supervised community activities will be periodically planned for the entire resident population.
PROGRAM LEVELS
Davidson Prison Ministry offers supervised independent living with sequential levels that allow the resident to earn higher levels of freedom and personal responsibility over time.
ORIENTATION PHASE
During this initial phase, the resident receives orientation to the house rules and guidelines, basic needs assessment (IE: clothing, food, hygiene), programs, financial, transportation, applications for EBT/Food Stamps, Medicaid/Health Insurance, medical assistance with physical and mental health assessment and treatment, Social Security card, and N.C. state ID/N.C. drivers license.
Once a resident completes these activities he can be moved to Phase One.

PHASE ONE
During this 30-day phase, the resident will begin working on his reentry and recovery program. Phase one residents don't move outside the program by themselves except for legal, school, or clinical meetings. When otherwise outside the program, they must be accompanied by a resident buddy, who is on Phase Two or Three. All outside activities must be approved by a Davidson Prison Ministry staff member for safety and liability purposes. Visits with sponsors or mentors must be approved in advance by a DPM staff member. This close supervision helps us to get to know our residents better, and limits outside movement that may trigger behavior leading to relapse or recidivism.
Residents will be expected to accomplish the following tasks:
1. Attend all required program activities and abide by program program rules at all times.
2. Develop a good work ethic, be willing to give back, and volunteer in the program as needed.
3. Learn how to confront conflict and crisis, and develop improved problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills. Make positive behavioral changes. We consider this step critical.
4. Work with a DPM staff member to accomplish personal goals.
